Cemmaes is a little village in Northern Powys, Wales: There was a train station in the village, which connected Mallwyd Railway to the main Cambrian Line but now our closest train station is fifteen minutes away at the town of Machynlleth: There is free parking, free Wi-Fi and a traditional restaurant. Also a taxi service is available (don't drink and drive ask us for a taxi).
We are located near Machynlleth, which is situated in the Dyfi Valley, between the Pumlumons and Snowdonia and with easy access to the coast, makes an excellent walking centre in the midst of some of Wales' finest countryside. We are situated in the lower Dyfi Valley near the seaside resorts of Aberdyfi and Borth, and inland to Dylife. Machynlleth is a historic Welsh Market town surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside in Britain making the Penrhos Arms an excellent base for walking.
In the heart of the village of Cemmaes, The Penrhos Arms is a short drive from Machynlleth and offers views of the Valley and the Mountains.
There are many walking and cycling paths for guests to enjoy.
Golfing is also available at Borth and Ynyslas Golf Club http://www.borthgolf.co.uk
Just ½ a mile up the road from the Penrhos is Stiwdio Bing Studio, a fully equipped music recording studio http://www.saindyfisound.co.uk/studio.html
